All about the Arusha Day Trip

Arusha National Park

Size: 552 sq km 212 sq miles).
Location: Northern Tanzania, northeast of Arusha town.

After breakfast you are met by our tour guide/driver, who will deliver a short safari briefing. Your driver will drive you to Arusha National Park with a land cruisers. Upon your arrival to Arusha National Park you can have a number of activities to be done. These include, walking safari accompanied with an armed ranger, game drive within the national park, bird watching at Momella Lake, hiking a little bit to the slopes of Mount Meru which is located within the park and is the second highest mountain in Tanzania after Mount Kilimanjaro, standing at 4,566m, followed by picnic lunch at the beautiful waterfalls of Meru.

Arusha National Park offers varieties of wildlife including capped African buffalos, elephants, hippos, giraffe, warthogs, antelopes, zebras, blue monkeys, velvet monkeys, colobus monkey and varieties of reptiles. At Lake Momella, you will see numerous numbers of birdlife which includes the resident and migratory once, common species including the pink flamingos and pelicans. Also there are over 450 species of birds which have been recorded in the park.

Among other fewer parks in Tanzania, Arusha National Park allows walking safari within the park escorted by an armed ranger. This will give you a chance to take closer picture of such animals like zebra, antelopes and buffalos along with birds on the trees. Late afternoon you will depart for Arusha Town or airport depends on your itinerary.
